7-eleven
An international chain of 24-hour convenience stores that originated and is still headquartered in Dallas, Texas, United States. Its stores are located in 20 countries (as of August 2024), Japan having one of its largest markets.
In 1991, Japanese affiliate Ito-Yokado acquired 70% of 7-Eleven and it was reorganized as a wholly owned subsidiary of 7-Eleven Japan. As of 2005, it is now held by the Japanese diversified retail group Seven & I Holdings Co., Ltd. (which also owns Denny's Japan).
