fantasy
A genre of fiction that commonly uses magic and other supernatural phenomena as a primary element of plot, theme, or setting.
Fantasy settings often draw upon historical settings and costume, but subvert them in unrealistic ways, such as adding mystical or supernatural elements like mythology, magic, fictional creatures and unhistorical components.
For imaginative settings that draw upon ideas of the future or futurism see science fiction, altough they may overlap.
